WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE?
Many of our employees live in rural communities near our mines, renewable energy sites, forests, mills, and offices. These towns, rooted in natural resource-based industries and outdoor lifestyles, play a vital role in supplying water, food, energy, and recreation to broader society.
However, rural areas often face significant obstacles:
Economic decline and shrinking populations
Limited job opportunities and educational resources
Gaps in technology, infrastructure, and healthcare, especially for marginalized groups
Global disruptions like the Great Recession have hit rural regions especially hard, deepening these challenges.

Our Role as a New Generation Company
Though newly established in 2025, Global E.I. Trust is built with a long-term vision: to grow responsibly alongside the communities where we operate. We believe in shared value, where our success must align with the prosperity of local people and environments.
We play a growing role by:
- Creating high-quality, future-proof jobs
- Encouraging education and youth development
- Supporting renewable energy adoption and responsible land use
- Contributing to a stable tax base and public services
- Fostering partnerships that address root challenges, not just symptoms
We’re also committed to respecting Indigenous rights and local customs, ensuring that growth never comes at the expense of identity or dignity.
What We Want to Achieve by 2030
By 2030, we aim to drive measurable improvements in:
- Economic resilience and employment opportunities
- Education access and technical skills development
- Community health, infrastructure, and environmental stability
- Equitable access to green energy and climate solutions
We see these goals as integral to both our corporate sustainability agenda and the future of rural living.
Our Strategy: Phased Action for Lasting Impact
Recognizing the complexity of these challenges, we are adopting a phased approach, beginning with our Phase 1 (2025–2027) rollout:
1. Targeted Community Investment
We will direct resources to high-impact projects that:
- Advance STEM education and vocational training
- Build renewable infrastructure in underserved areas
- Improve local water systems, digital connectivity, and public facilities
- Support small businesses and inclusive economic planning
2. Policy & Partnership Advocacy
We will collaborate with:
- Local and regional governments on broadband and green energy infrastructure
- Nonprofits and education institutions to foster youth opportunity pipelines
- Industry peers and trade groups to shape inclusive, sustainable policy frameworks
Phase 1 Early Action Projects (2025–2027)
We’ve identified several initiatives to kickstart our impact:

A $5M fund to support small towns near our operations, focusing on:
- Renewable energy community co-investments
- Forestry and land management innovation
- Youth development in trades and environmental science
“Learn Local, Build Global” Education Alliance
Partnerships with:
- Local schools and community colleges
- Indigenous education programs
- Technical institutions across Canada, the U.S., and the UK
To offer training in sustainable mining, clean energy tech, and forestry management.
Digital Access for Development
Support for rural broadband access initiatives and mobile training hubs in digital skills and entrepreneurship.
Habitat and Health Partnerships
Initial collaboration with Habitat for Humanity and community health nonprofits in Canada and the U.S. to improve housing security and promote clean water and air.
Foundational Priorities as a New Company
- Embed ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) priorities from day one
- Build internal and community-facing Sustainability & Inclusion Councils
- Use data, storytelling, and local feedback to inform each phase of investment
- Celebrate volunteerism and leadership across our employee base in the UK, Luxembourg, U.S., and Canada
We are at the beginning of our journey, but our commitment is unwavering. As we scale up our operations, Global E.I. Trust will remain rooted in a clear purpose:
“To deliver responsible growth through energy, resources, and innovation, while empowering rural communities to thrive for generations to come.”
